After her divorce, Amy lost her daughter and raised her son alone. One day, on the way to visit her grandson, she unexpectedly saves Sophie and is introduced to the powerful Mr. Smith. Hiding his true identity, Smith impulsively marries Amy. During their life together, Amy is often bullied by her in-laws, but Smith always steps in to defend her, humiliating the bullies and helping her build a better life. Though Amy’s son is weak and not very capable, he is filial and kind-hearted. Eventually, when his wife’s family goes too far in mistreating Amy, he finally stands by his mother’s side. In the end, Amy discovers that Smith is actually the richest man in the city—and that Sophie is her long-lost daughter. At last, the family is reunited.
